The visible mark
The Gemini watermark is the small four-point sparkle logo that Google places in the bottom-right corner of images and videos generated by its AI tools. It is a semi-transparent overlay rather than a crop or a border, so the picture continues underneath it, and it appears at a consistent position and size across Gemini, the Nano Banana image model, Imagen, Veo and Google Flow.
Its job is disclosure: a viewer glancing at the file can tell it was made by AI. That is a reasonable goal, and it is worth being clear that removing the sparkle does not change whether your picture was AI-generated — only whether the badge is sitting on top of it.
The invisible mark: SynthID
Google also embeds SynthID, a watermark carried in the pixel values themselves. There is nothing to see and nothing in one corner to erase — the signal is distributed across the image, and it is built to survive ordinary handling like resizing, cropping and re-compression.
This is the part that gets misrepresented. Removing the visible sparkle does not remove SynthID, and no tool on this site claims to. If a service tells you it can make AI images undetectable, that is a claim to disbelieve rather than a feature to pay for. Practically: clean the corner for design reasons, and assume the file can still be identified as AI-generated.
Where you will meet it
- Gemini images, including everything the Nano Banana image model produces.
- Imagen renders and images pulled out of Google AI Studio.
- Veo video, and the shots that Google Flow generates with it.
Sizes vary a little: bigger renders get a proportionally bigger sparkle. Both the common sizes are measured, so files from either are recognised without you choosing anything.
What does not work
Cropping can push the sparkle out of frame, but you lose part of the composition and the invisible mark is untouched. Screenshotting copies the sparkle along with everything else and re-compresses the picture, which makes a clean removal harder afterwards. Blurring or patching the corner hides the logo but destroys whatever was under it, which is obvious the moment the mark sat over a face or some text.

How the removal works
Most watermark removers guess. They erase the area and ask an AI model to paint something plausible into the hole, which is why results so often look smeared, or invent detail that was never there. This tool does something different: it undoes the watermark instead of covering it up.
The sparkle is a semi-transparent layer blended over your picture, so every watermarked pixel is a fixed mix of two things — the logo, and whatever was underneath. Because the logo is identical in every Gemini file, that mix can be measured once and then reversed, pixel by pixel, to recover the original colour. The result is the detail that was actually behind the logo, not a plausible imitation of it.
Why that matters for quality
- Nothing outside the corner is touched. The rest of your image is passed through unchanged, so there is no global quality loss.
- No blur, no smearing. Textures, edges and text under the logo come back as they were.
- It refuses to guess. If the Gemini sparkle is not actually present, the file is returned exactly as you gave it, rather than having an odd bright patch stamped into the corner.
Files that were re-saved or re-compressed after watermarking — a JPEG export, a screenshot, or any video frame — no longer hold the exact original values, so a light extra pass tidies the logo's soft edge in those cases.

No tool anywhere removes SynthID, whatever it claims. Treat that promise as a warning sign.

Can SynthID be removed?
Not by this tool, and you should be sceptical of anything claiming otherwise. It is embedded through the pixels rather than stamped in one corner.
Does cropping remove the Gemini watermark?
Cropping can cut the visible sparkle out of frame, but it also throws away part of your picture and leaves the invisible mark untouched.
Does screenshotting remove it?
